Starting Nursery at Sacred Heart

The school allocates places for Nursery for all day, morning or afternoon sessions. Children can start at Sacred Heart after their third birthday. If you are interested in your child starting with us or to book a bespoke visit to our welcoming learning environment, please complete the Nursery Interest form below.

Starting in Reception (F2 - full time education)

If you would like to book bespoke visit to our welcoming learning environment, please contact the school office. The Local Authority manages admissions for Foundation 2. Please click on the link below for more information and to apply for a place at Sacred Heart online.

Transferring to Secondary School (information for Year 6 parents/carers)

If your child is due to start in Year 7 in September 2023. You can find all the information you need about admissions by clicking the link below. If you need any further information on transferring to secondary school, please contact the school office. 

In-Year Applications

•       An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to Wirral Council by completing the in-year admissions application/ transfer on the WIrral Council Website at https://www.wirral.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-admissions or by calling 0151 606 2020 during office hours.  

•       Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023-2024, will be applied. This policy can be found below.  Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

•       If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

•       You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible.  Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

•       You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

This map shows the Parish Boundary for Sacred Heart, however, we accept applications for places in school from far and wide as our school is ideally located on the approach to major motorway links. Our Wrap-Around facilities enable us to care for your children from 7:30am to 6.00pm. Many families find dropping off and picking up their children at Sacred Heart fits into their routine on their way to and from work in Wirral, Liverpool, Manchester and beyond!
