At Sacred Heart, we recognise the importance of English in every aspect of our daily lives and so our English curriculum has been developed to provide our children with many purposeful opportunities for reading, writing and discussion as a means to actively participate and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

It is our collective intention to empower our children to effectively communicate their knowledge, ideas and emotions through reading, writing and spoken language, and for them to be able to do this in a range of contexts and in a range of ways that allows them to further their lifelong learning. Whilst at the same time enables them to make their voices heard in an ever-changing society where they have the potential to shape the future and make a real difference as global citizens.
